Today the Sawyers parted ways! Liam and his buddy were off to hockey camp an hour away and Michael and Amber are continuing to explore Stockholm.
Highlights from Day 3
- We had the yummiest vegan breakfast at a place called The Greasy Spoon. We can never find vegan breakfast back at home! It’s also important to note at this time that McDonalds has a McVegan sandwich. Yeah, that’s a thing.

- Liam was a bit apprehensive to be dropped off at camp when he doesn’t speak Swedish. All phone calls and texts have alluded to the fact that he’s having a great time, though, hanging out with hockey players from all over the globe!

- We visited the Vasa Museum dedicated to an ornate ship built in 1628 that lasted about 15 minutes on its maiden voyage before sinking due to the weight of the cannons that the king insisted it must have. It was finally recovered in the 1960s and was so well preserved because of the mud, sea temp and salt levels. There are 770 unique figures/carvings/statues on the ship, each with a story.

-On the recommendation of friends, Michael and Amber spent the evening in south Stockholm wandering and eating and wandering some more. It was, well, perfection. Cheers to sitting outside and people watching.

-Fun fact: amber is most commonly found in the Baltic Sea, so amber earrings were a required souvenir.
