Day 4 Stockholm

While we are sure Liam is working hard, today was a slow, lazy start and finish for Amber and Michael with some good site seeing in between. No one was complaining.

Highlights from Day 4:

  • We had breakfast and lunch today at two different all vegan restaurants. While it has been super easy for us to find vegan food, it’s always nice to go places we get a full menu.
On the wall at Mahalo where we had breakfast.
  • We met our friends for lunch near Old Town. I think ever meal should be slowly eaten for hours outside under a terrace.
Our lunch view of Old Town.
  • We spent the afternoon touring the Palace! We were so lucky to have Annette as our tour guide filling us in on Swedish history and culture. The embellishments and details are incredible. So many of the spaces are still used by the royal family for events. Because the palace burned down in 1697, only the dungeon is truly reminiscent of the Middle Ages.
  • Speaking of Middle Ages, Old Town surrounding the palace is filled with cobbled streets and colorful buildings from medieval times. It’s all on a hill, with a ‘drainage system’ down each street. Back in the day, it was best to live at the top of the hill, if you know what I mean.
  • We ended the evening early to do laundry back at the hotel. We were in for a real surprise when one load took 6 hrs and 22 minutes. Here we are grabbing our laundry at 12:30 in the morning.
