The Sawyer Stories

All the anticipation has been building up to this! The wait for that 4:00 pm Uber to the airport was brutal. We were definitely ready to hit GO on this trip.

Here are the highlights from our travel to Stockholm!

-The line to check our bags at the airport was veeerry long. This was augmented by the fact that we had an oversized hockey bag in tow. At least it wasn’t stinky yet!

-Iceland Air boards their planes in a first come first served single file line. Hmmm, what’s the logic there?

-We were super prepared to sleep on our redeye flight to Iceland: pillows, blankets, eye masks, noise cancelling headphones….and basically no sleep for all 3 of us. Liam got maybe an hour once he sprawled across Amber. It was a long flight for all.

-We were greeted in Iceland with some chilly rain and wind. Luckily plane to bus was only a few steps. Enough to count that we’ve been in Iceland though!

-In the Iceland airport we learned that there are no spaces to sit near a gate, just doors to your flight in a hallway. Now the single file lineup makes more sense!

-More sleep was had on flight to to Stockholm. We arrived ready to see our friends and this gorgeous city! But first we walked around the whole airport lost trying to get out to find them! Insert round two of hockey bag turmoil.
